On 28–29 May 2026, the First National Conference “Digital Transformation of Universities” was held at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv. The National Pirogov Memorial Medical University, Vinnytsya (VNMU), was represented at the conference by Viktor Revenok, Associate Professor of the Department of Biological Physics, Medical Equipment and Informatics, and Artur Berezovskyi, Head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy.
As part of the conference programme, the VNMU representatives delivered a presentation on the implementation of the international Erasmus+ Digi-CHange project and the use of medical simulators in the educational process. The university’s experience in the Digi-CHange project attracted considerable interest and received positive feedback from conference participants.
The conference also showcased successful examples of digital transformation in Ukrainian universities, including ERP system implementation, modern approaches to the digital transformation of healthcare, and future developments of Learning Management Systems (LMS Moodle) in higher education.
Particular attention was devoted to the issue of digital maturity of universities. During the event, the organisers presented the results of the first phase of a national study assessing the level of digital transformation among Ukrainian higher education institutions. VNMU representatives were invited to participate in the next stage of this initiative, which may contribute to the further development of the university’s digital services.
An important outcome of the conference was the establishment of new professional contacts and opportunities for future collaboration. VNMU representatives engaged with specialists from leading technology companies, including KTC and Lenovo, discussing prospects for the development of the university’s digital infrastructure. They also initiated communication with scholars from international universities, including the University of Oxford.
The discussions additionally addressed the development of digital services for students, enhancement of electronic educational management systems, implementation of modern communication tools, and strategies for involving alumni in supporting university initiatives.
Conference participants also explored opportunities for professional development within higher education institutions, including participation in a Summer School on Digital Transformation of Universities, scheduled for 2027.
Participation in the conference marked an important step in advancing VNMU’s digital transformation agenda, promoting the adoption of innovative educational technologies, expanding cooperation with Ukrainian and international partners, and showcasing the university’s own achievements to the academic community, particularly those attained through the Erasmus+ Digi-CHange project.
