History

      Department of Internal Medicine Medical School number 2 was established August 23, 2001 due to the re-training of physicians in the specialty "Pediatrics". Since the establishment of the department headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Jebel Vadym Nikolaevich. Teaching staff: 2 Professors, 7 associate professors, 8 assistant professors, 1 traineer teacher, graduate students, technicians and senior undergraduates. Teaching spend 2 DM, 14 PhD. Clinical bases of the Department of Internal Medicine Medical School number 2 has two medical schools - Vinnitsa Regional Specialized Clinical Center Radiation Protection  and the Ukrainian Research Institute of Rehabilitation of the disabled people VNMU n.a. N.I. Pirogov.       

  Head of Department prof. V. Jebel is a member of the Association of Ukrainian specialists in heart failure, co-chair of Vinnytsia City Heart Association, member of the European Society of Cardiology. Professor Vadym Jebel is the author of 258 publications and co-authored 4 books in internal medicine for students of dental faculties. Since 1998 - a permanent member of the State Examining Board of Internal Medicine in VNMU.He also is a member of the Academic Council of the University and medical schools.    

   The department taught the following courses:

· Medical Faculty № 2 specialty "Pediatrics", - "Propaedeutics Internal Medicine" (3rd year), "Occupational Disease" (5th year), " Internal Medicine "(4-6 courses);

· Medical Faculty № 2 specialty "Medical Psychology" - "Nursing" (2nd year), "Propaedeutics Internal Medicine" (3rd year), "Internal Medicine" (4-6 courses);

· Medical Faculty № 2 specialty "Medicine" - "Internal Medicine "(4 course);

- Stomatologycal Faculty - "Nursing" (2nd year), "Propaedeutics Internal Medicine" (2nd year), "Internal Medicine" (3-4 courses);

· Faculty of Pharmacy, specialty "Pharmacy" - "Study Medical Practice" (2nd year);

 The Department is supporting discipline for "Internal Medicine whith Clinical Psychology" for the 6th year students, enrolled in "Medical psychology".

Science activity

The theme of the research work of the Department of Internal Medicine of Medical faculty №2 is "Prediction of the course and effectiveness of cardiovascular disease treatment taking into account the regulatory role of genes and biomarker activity involved in the formation of the phenotype of the disease" (state registration number 0116U005376), which aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. diseases, as well as predicting the course and effectiveness of their treatment, taking into account the regulatory role of genes and the activity of biomarkers involved in the formation of phenotypes pas disease.

 Under the guidance of prof. Zhebel V.N.  defended 1 DM  and 10 PhD theses, 14 Master's works, 7 PhD theses are performing. Every year 5-7 scientific conferences held at the base of the department, employees participate in national and foreign scientific congresses and forums devoted to topical issues of internal medicine, in particular, in the European and Ukrainian Congresses of Cardiology, the school of rheumatology and therapists. The staff of the department includes members of the European Union of Cardiology, the Ukrainian Cardiological Society, the Association of Specialists in Heart Failure, etc.

Student research group (SRG) of the Department of Internal Medicine of the Medical Faculty № 2 has 28 students of 2-6 courses of the Medical Faculty № 2, Stomatological and Pharmaceutical Faculties. The head of the circle is Assoc. prof. Kulchevych L.V. A meeting of the SRG held every last Wednesday of the month.

Topics of meetings of the SRG:

1. The latest advances in cardiology.

2. Determination of biomarkers in cardiology.

3. Modern approaches to the treatment of essential hypertension.

4. New paradigms and current issues in modern gastroenterology.

5. Modern methods of diagnosis of osteoporosis.

6. Changes in the oral cavity in the digestive tract pathology.

  In November 2018, the members of the SRG  of the Department together with the professor Lozinskii S.E. and associate professor Kulchevych L.V. visited the laboratory "Synevo", where they could get acquainted with modern methods of laboratory diagnostics.   

 Every year students participate in International student scientific conferences, including in the International Student's Scientific Conference "The first step in science", which in 2018 was held at VNMU for the 16th time. Students presented their own scientific reports on cardiology, proffesionsl deseases. Prizes in different years occupied: A. Vukolova. (1sh place, 2012), Lozinska M. (1st place, 2013), Novruzlu T. (1st place, 2014-2015) I. Kutinskaya, O. Brailovskaya (1st place, 2015), Volotskaya K. (2nd place, 2011), Pomaranskaya A.P. (2nd place, 2010), Tsilichenko Z.M. (3th place 2010), Lisovsky V.L. (3th place, 2017-2018).

Theses of the conferences were published by Kutinskaya I., Brailovskaya O.A., Lisovsky V.L., Smolyakova D., Urdei N., Abbasova A., Malysheva V.

Every year at the department in February held a Therapy Olympiad, in which take part students of the Medical faculty №2. The Olympiad includes the following stages: testing, clinical examination of the patient with the registration of the protocol (practical skills), the answer to a theoretical question on internal medicine, the solution of the situational problem of emergency care, decoding the ECG. In the 2017-2018 academic year, the students of the 5th course Berezovskaya T. became the winners of the Olympiad (I place). Three students got 2nd and 3th places: Andrukhova V.I. (2nd place), Chalayyuk K.R. (3th place), Polishchuk Yu.A. (3th place) among 13 students.

The manual is designed for students of higher educational institutions of III -IV accreditation levels , postgraduates, general practitioners.

       A manual prepared in accordance with the curriculum of the laboratory and functional diagnostics for higher medical and pharmaceutical institutions of Ukraine III IVrivniv accreditation for specialty " Pharmacy " and " Clinical Pharmacy" . The manual detail the laboratory and instrumental methods that are most commonly used in clinical practice to diagnose the most common diseases of the respiratory, cardiovascular , digestive , urinary tract and blood diseases. Recommended for students of pharmacy and pediatric departments.

 Prof . V. Zhebel  is co-author of textbooks for students of dental faculties in higher educational institutions of III -IV accreditation levels permitted by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine : " Internal Medicine ": Tutorial - Poltava , 2002 (edited by prof.
